University’s reservation criteria is also intelligible, like for the backward classes and people with physical disabilities (OBC/SC/ST/PH),also the University has a provision to offer up to 15% of the seats in each programme of study to foreign nationals. The University also awards Deprivation Points, up to a maximum of 10 points, to all female candidates, Kashmiri migrants, widows/wards of defence personnel killed/disabled in action/in peace time with death/ disability attributable to military service also falls in the category of reservation.
Different courses require different eligibility as undergraduate honours course require 10+2 compulsory with high percentage and PG course in management require a valid CAT score, PG M-tech. require a valid GATE score.
For Admissions, in all Master’s degree programs except M.A. programs in foreign languages (School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies), need to give viva voce examination. To be eligible for the viva voce examination, a candidate must secure the following marks out of 70 in the written examination for post-graduate courses
- General Category: 25% (17.50 marks out of 70)
- OBC: 22.50% (15.75 marks out of 70)
- SC/ST/PH: 15% (10.50 marks out of 70)
The final selection of candidates for admission to the post-graduate programs of study is made on the basis of inter-se merit of candidates in their respective categories, based on their performance
